    1. [S10] Staff, Obituary: Benson, Velma L. (Ulrich), (Name: Petoskey News-Review; Location: Petoskey, Emmett, Michigan, United States;), Obituary: Daniels, Nancy Lou (Steffey). 26FEB10.
Nancy Lou Daniels , 75, currently of Harbor Springs, passed away Feb. 25, 2010, at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital with her family at her side.

Nancy was born Nov. 5, 1934, the daughter of Leonard and Hazel Steffey of Bay City. She grew up and attended school in Bay City.

Nancy and her family moved to Alanson in 1968. She soon started driving school bus for Littlefield schools. She enjoyed being involved with school activities.

In 1974, she became involved with Midshipman Drum & Bugle Corps through her children. She enjoyed the summers driving bus when needed and helping out any way possible.

She then started work at NMRH in the dietary department in 1981 and retired in 1996.

Nancy owned and operated N & N Ceramics for several years in Petoskey.

In 1994, she married Harold A. Daniels and they made their home in Petoskey. They spent their most favorite times traveling. Their most memorable trip was a summer spent in Alaska. She enjoyed being part of the Daniels family.

Nancy's most favorite thing to do was sew. She worked part time at JoAnn's Fabric store for many years. She loved the feel of fabric and most enjoyed making things for loved ones.

The last two years, Nancy lived in Harbor Springs at Hillside Senior Apartments. She enjoyed living there so much. The residents became close friends and were always ready to lend a hand.

Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had a sparkle in her eyes and always a smile on her face. She had the most positive attitude, which she used to fight against her worst enemy "cancer" for the last five years.

She was preceded in death by both parents; both her brothers, Leonard Jr. "Skip" and Albert "Butch" Steffey; and one sister, Leona Steffey.

She is survived by her husband, Harold A. Daniels , at Bay Bluffs in Harbor Springs; sister, Linda (Al) Harris, Alanson; daughter, Pamela (Patrick) Konieczny, of Harbor Springs; grandson, Joshua Sydow; son, Patrick (Janice) Pockrandt, of Center Line, Mich.; granddaughters, Margaret Brown, Samantha Pockrandt; cousin, Ethel Howard, of Petoskey; former husband, Toby Pockrandt; stepdaughters, Colleen O'Neill of San Antonio, Texas, Sharon Wagner of Petoskey, Sheryl (Lyle) Wolf of Alanson, Kathy (Terry) Ford of Alanson, Valerie (Doug) Clay of Brutus, Linda (Kelly) Cleaver of Levering; 13 stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Stone Funeral Home, 2098 E. Mitchell Road, Petoskey. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, at Stone Funeral Home.

The family suggests donations to Hillside Senior Apartments or U of M Comprehensive Cancer Center for research of sarcoma cancer.
