      James E Bradshaw

James Jim Edward Bradshaw of Lompoc passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at the age of 54.

He was born in Lancaster, CA on June 26, 1959 to Emory & Elizabeth Betty Bradshaw.

Jim was well traveled during his 17 year career in the US Air Force. With numerous tours of duty abroad and around the US, Jim proudly served in Operation Desert Shield before leaving the Air Force in 1994. Everywhere Jim went, he made great friends and memories along the way. After leaving the Air Force, Jim worked for various companies including Boeing and McDonnell Douglas before moving to Lompoc and taking a position with Excelis, Inc at Vandenberg AFB. He enjoyed his job and co-workers very much.

Jim was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan. His favorite place on earth was Alaska; one of his favorite memories was volunteering at an aid station at the Iditarod. He enjoyed wine and beer tasting, and was a dedicated volunteer at Barkin Park in Lompoc. Jims greatest pleasure, however, was simply being with his family and his beloved dog, Juneau. He adored his wife and children and found special joy in his new granddaughter, Samantha.

Jim is survived by his wife of 13 years, Dorretta Bradshaw of Lompoc; his daughters, Angelica Shuemaker of Lexington, KY and Vanessa (Damion) Holden of Oxnard and his granddaughter, Samantha Holden; sisters Yvonne (Tom) Ogren of San Luis Obispo, CA; sister Pam Mesolella of Lancaster, CA; Nancy Anderson of Los Angeles, CA; Barbara Rattan of Lancaster, CA; John (Donna) Bradshaw of Silver Spring, MD; Joe (Robin) Bradshaw of Big Lake, MN; and Annette (Henry) Lindgren of Idaho Falls, ID; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Virginia.

A private service will be held at St. Andrews Abbey, Valyermo, CA. A public celebration of Jims life will be held at the Vandenberg Village Country Club on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00am.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the John Ritter Foundation or Barkin Park of Lompoc (Lompoc Valley Parks, Pool and Recreation Foundation).
