Carol Ann Murphy Keller, 75, of Greene Township, died Friday evening April 30, 2010 at her residence following a lengthy illness. A resident of Erie all of her life she was born November 24, 1934, a daughter of the late Martin and Anne Lenze Murphy. Carol was a 1953 graduate of Villa Maria Academy and was a foster parent for over 20 years. She loved sewing, gardening, birds, the ocean, and her pets. She also loved vacationing at the beach and having lunch with her special group of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lynn James Murphy. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James Keller ; one daughter, Michele Ventrello and her husband Stephen of Erie; three sons, James Keller , Jr. and his wife Emmie of Erie, Daniel Keller and his wife Peggy of Edinboro, and Timothy Keller and his significant other Tammy Drayer of Greene Township; three brothers, Dean Murphy and his wife Monna of Arizona, Neil Murphy and his wife Shirley of Florida, and Martin "Pat" Murphy and his wife Susie of California; two sisters, Norma Dinger and her husband Richard of Wesleyville, and Mary Straitwell and her husband Leonard of Erie; and four grandchildren, Stephen and Alexander Ventrello, Dan Keller , Jr., and Katie Keller , Sr. Airman USAF. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Harry Johns. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
