    • St. George & Maloney 35 Years (and counting) Once, upon a time, in the Land of Eire, Christopher and Annie (Conarchy) St. George produced an heir to the St. George Fortune. Annie wanted to name him “Wolfgang” and Christopher wanted to call him “George”, but they finally agreed on “Brendan Emmett”. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, another momentous event took place. Nicholas and Kate Maloney proudly announced the arrival of their third daughter, Theresa. Several years later, the St. George clan sailed to the New World and landed in Lexington, Massachusetts (not far from the Plymouth Rock). With a steadfast eye on the American Dream, Brendan seized the opportunity to manage the LHS football team. The nuns at Malden Catholic High School for Girls taught young Terry two basic rules to live by: 1) Follow the Ten Commandments. 2) Never wear black patent leather shoes. Also an achiever, Terry became one of the great Class Treasurers of MCHS for G. After graduation, Terry worked as a secretary. Much of her leisure time was spent roller skating with her sisters Mary and Peg at the beautiful BAL-A-ROUE. She also spent many carefree hours at the ocean, posing on rocks for wandering photographers. Bidding farewell to his Mother, brother Kevin, and sisters Mary and Cora, Brendan set off to serve his country from the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli. When on leave and not posing for wandering photographers in his marine suit, Brendan liked to while away the hours roller skating , often at the beautiful BAL-A-ROUE. Who would have guessed that these two young people would go roller skating at the beautiful BAL-A-ROUE on the same night and, quite literally, “fall for each other”. Here’s the happy couple - sans roller skates - standing outside the Fellsway Theatre in beautiful downtown “MEFFA”. They fell in love and on September 24, 1949… They honeymooned at the Taft Hotel in New York City, and then moved into a two-family house on Dunbar Ave. in Medford. The family began to grow … (add Kevin) and grow … (add Kathy) and grow … (add Patti) and grow … (add Chrissy) and grow … (add Rosemary). Somewhere in the midst of all this growth, the St. Georges moved to a new home in Stoneham, complete with swimming pool. The devoted grandparents were welcome visitors to 31 Perkins Street! Before you could say “Erin-Go-Bragh”, Brendan and Terry were dancing at their 25th Wedding Anniversary Party! By their 30th Anniversary, a new face had appeared in the family portrait. (add Karen) In November of 1983, the Heir to the St. George Dynasty, Ian Christopher, made his debut. Brendan & Terry’s first Grandbaby is a joy. Just aks them when you join us for their 35th Anniversary Party. It’s a surprise. We hope you will celebrate this happy occasion with us.
