- [S604] Adams County Press, Henry, Harvey.
Harvey Henry, one of the earliest settlers in this town, died last Tuesday evening, December 9, 1898, at his home two miles west of Friendship in Adams county, at the age of 77 years.
His wife Elizabeth, preceded him to the grave several years ago.
Mr Henry came from the east to Wisconsin in 1856, and first settled about two miles southwest of this village, where he resided for several years. Later he moved to the farm whereon he died. For several years, almost if not quite ever since the death of his wife, Mr Henry has gradually weakened both physically and mentally. For the last two or three years he has been incapable of performing any labor, physically or otherwise, and his condition has been such as to call out the sympathies of all who knew the once strong and vigorous man. He was much respected in the community and filled positions of trust. He served his town quite a number of terms as supervisor, treasurer and in other important offices.
The funeral will be had at the family residence this Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and the remains will be laid to rest in Mount Repose cemetery.
The deceased leaves but one surviving child- Mr George Henry, with whom he has resided since the death of his wife.
