  PHARR - Gladys Aletha Wells, 78, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Mrs. Wells was born in Burns, Kan. the daughter of Rueben M Jewell and Gladys G Allen, and had been a resident of McAllen for 50 years. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her sisters, Doris Jewell of Richardson, and Anita Smith and her husband, Harold of Irving; one brother, Glenn Jewell and his wife, Audrey of San Juan; and her very close friend, Deane Welch of McAllen. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Roselawn Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Jewell will officiate.
