Steven Henry Whiteman, 72, of Las Vegas, passed away quietly in his sleep Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Kindred Hospital in Las Vegas, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 3, 1943, in St. Marys, Pa. Steve served in the U.S. Army, as both a combat engineer and as an officer with the JAG Corps. He retired as general counsel from EG&G where he worked for almost 20 years. Steve attended St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church. He was a loving husband and father. Steve is survived by his children, Stephanie Reyna and Paul Whiteman; their spouses, Ron Reyna and Denise Whiteman; and his grandchildren, Jordan, Lauryn, Logan, and Louden. Every life he touched was made brighter by his smile and selfless attitude. A private service will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. In lieu of attendance, friends are invited to make donations to the American Cancer Society.
