Miriam B. Arnold , 95, of 257 Charles St., St. Marys, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 17, 1920 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Elizabeth Fox Kreckle.
On July 1, 1939 in St. Mary's Church, she married John Arnold , who preceded her in death in 1968.
Mrs. Arnold was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and a member of the St. Mary's Church. She graduated from Central High School, Class of 1937. She enjoyed the more than 20 years she spent as a teacher's aide for special education. She was also a member of the C.D. of A.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Muhitch of St. Marys and Carol (Ron) Stott of Easley, S.C., and by two sons, Thomas (Doris) Arnold and Lyle (Gina) Arnold , both of St. Marys. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Schloder; a granddaughter, Christine Schloder; a grandson in infancy, John Schloder; four sisters, Arlene Burden, Irma Skok, Ruth Nussbaum, and Helen Herr; and by a son-in-law, Joseph Muhitch.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Miriam B. Arnold will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 15 at noon at St. Mary's Church, Church Street, St. Marys with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Church.

Helen E, Herr, 90, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 306 Maple St., St. Marys, died on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014.
She was born on December 16, 1923, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Elizabeth Fox Kreckle.
On October 7, 1947 in St. Marys, she married Allen "Acky" Herr, who preceded her in death on November 30, 2011.
Helen was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School, class of 1941. She was a member of the St. Mary's Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Harry Herr and his wife Ruth of Palmyra, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a sister, Miriam Arnold of St. Marys, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Arline Burden, Ruth Nussbaum and Irma Skok.
