She was born in Petoskey on Oct 12, 1931, attended St Francis Xavier and graduated from Petoskey High School. On Aug 18, 1952 she married George Edward Goodrich and moved to Alanson where they raised a family of nine children.
Lila loved her children and was considered a second mom for many. She had a smile for everyone she met and let her light shine for all who could see. She lived a Christian life and in her own words “she strived to make herself pleasing to God and paid witness when she saw the opportunity.” Lila was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Alanson where she enjoyed singing praise. She loved to walk and was often seen stopping at neighbors while out and about with her dog Kiku. She was known for countless acts of kindness, including her beautiful scripture quilts, sewn entirely by hand for residents of area nursing facilities. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her sister Beatrice Wolf; Eight Children, Jerry (Rachel) Goodrich, Barb (Mike) Sherwood, Vicki (Sarkas) Najarian, Ken (Sheryl) Goodrich, Deno Goodrich, Joan (Al) Green, Margie (Dave) Golovich, Mary (Don) Howell, her Pomeranian dog, Kiku, 27 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren. On Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, Evelyn A . Wolf "Evie" was gloriously reunited with her beloved husband, Tom, and precious son, Tommy.
Evie is survived by her four daughters, Lynn (John) Duncan, Lora Wolf , Mary (Steven) Brundage and Marty (John) Moor; sisters, Beatrice (James) Wolf , Lila Goodrich and Velma (Ron) Benson; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; dear brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Evie was born in 1933 in Petoskey and married Thomas L. Wolf in June 1951. They relocated to Fremont, Ohio, in 1963 and together spent 30 years involved in many community and church activities. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved to Las Vegas, Nev., where she supported him in his role as deacon. After her husband died, Evie moved to California to live with her daughter, Lora.
Sadly, Evie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2008 and spent too many years battling complications from a truly horrible disease. In Evie's memory, her daughters request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
