    • COREY, Harold Daniel 91, of Indian Rocks Beach, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. Harold was born in Ashtabula, OH, in 1926. He was the last surviving sibling of 12 to the Corey family in Ohio. They believed in big families back then.

Harold entered the U.S. Army during WWII in late 1944. He always claimed that was the best move of his life. The war ended and Harold was shipped back home from the Philippines in December 1946. With his prior knowledge of auto mechanics since about the age of nine, and his experience in the service, he secured his future.

Harold voluntarily transplanted from Mentor, OH, to Largo, FL, in 1972. He brought along his mechanical ability and even an employee. Harold was the original founder and owner operator of Corey's Ohio Auto Service on West Bay Drive, Largo. He transferred ownership to Steve Boyle in 2008, who continues this operation today. However, Harold did not 'leave,' you could see him almost any given day coming in and out of the shop, greeting clients, and giving Steve 'suggestions.'

He is survived by his loving and proud wife by his side for 36 years, Susan Nunamaker-Corey; daughter, Valerie Quinn of South Carolina, and her two children, Anne Mayberry of South Carolina and Paul; his daughter, Sybil Corey of Largo with her three boys, Desmon, Colton, and Anthony; and his granddaughter, Sarah-Jo McClelland of Colorado with her son, Michael. He has a niece, Judith Addison of Colorado. He predeceases his daughters, Peggy Corey, 2002 and Corie Anne Nunamaker, 2012.

Harold was proud to be a 50-year plus lifetime member of American Legion Post 119 in Largo, FL. He was in Company A of the 155th Infantry Regiment.

Memorial Services will be held at Hubbell Funeral Home, 499 Indian Rocks Road, Belleair Bluffs, FL, 11 am, Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Burial with military honors to follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
