Betty Jane Wurm, aged 5 years,3 months and 19 days, died at the home of her parents on Broad street on Sunday, January 3, 1926.
Betty Jane Wurm was born September 24, 1920. She was the second daughter of Henry W. and Birdie Kohler Wurm.
Little Betty Jane had been suffering since the middle of summer from Brights disease, and had been confined to her bed since the sixth of September. The first four weeks in bed were spent in the home of Mr. and Mrs.I.F. Weigle. She was then taken to the Logan Hospsital, Cambridge Springs, and after a six week's stay there she was brought to the home of her parents in New Bethlehem. Everything possible was done to relieve her suffering and to cure the disease.
Betty Jane was a beautiful example of patience, for not once during her entire illness did she complain. She bore her suffering cheerfuly, displaying an extremely sweet disposition. Betty Jane Wurm is survived by her father and mother, one sister, Helen and one brother, Billy.
Funeral services were conducted at the St. Charles Catholic church at this place Tuesday morning at 9:00 o'clock. An impressive feature of the service was the attendance of the Sunday School in a body and the presance of sixteen girls and sixteen boys, who acted as honorary pallbearers. High Mass of the Angles was offered and a very beautiful sermon was delivered by Rev. F. J. Graes, pastor of the church.
