Emma Louise was dearly loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed having family dinners at her place and we had many there. She furnished the family Christmas pudding for the family Christmas party each year and of course her saffron cake was one of the best that was exchanged. She helped wherever she was needed and was always one of the group that cleaned house for Uncle Alf at least one a year. We always liked to go to Dodgeville for it meant we stopped to see Aunt Emma and she always had saffron buns, heavy cake or seedy biscuits for us.
--
Ed Williams farmed north of Dodgeville until his son Will too over the farm and Ed moved to Dodgeville. Ed and Emma were faithful members of the Congregational Church. Ed was the bell ringer - I think called the sexton. He was a great help to his in-laws in doing carpentry and masonry worked. He was much loved by his many nieces and nephews who mourned his sudden death. he was hit by a locomotive on a crossing coming from his old farm. He had become deaf and did not hear the whistle of the engineer, an old friend.
--
As the children of Ed Williams by his first wife are not directly related, we do not have information on them and they are not listed further. They are Mabel, Charles, and Will. Mable married George Griffiths, a Presbyterian minister. They and three children, Kathern, Margaret, and Bob. Will married Cora Bukingham and they had one son, Harold. Charles married Verna Fox and they had two children, Ed and ----.
