| 1853 | LARGER BEER BREWERY The subscribers would inform the citizens of Clearfield county, and elsewhere, that they have just erected a Brewery in the East part of the Borough of Clearfield, and that they are now prepared to supply Tavern-keepers and Eating-Saloons, with a superior article of Larger Beer. The quality of their Beer is equal to any manufactured in the State, and as they are determined to sell at the most reasonable rates, they flatter themselves, that they will be liberally patronized in their new enterprise. Give them a call and satisfy yourselves of the superior quality of their Larger. JACOB HESSENDELLER CHARLES HAUT Raftsman’s Journal (Clearfield, Pennsylvania) 16NOV1859 --- DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP. | 1854 | Letter from Virginia M. Usher to Mary Helen McDonough O'Malley [page 1] St. Louis, Mo Sunday, March 24, 1991 Dear Mary Ellen, First of all my apologies for the delay in answering your letter. I have a serious eye problem and my central vision is effected and I can no longer read. I can write but cant read back what I wrote so please forgive me for any errors. Now for any help I could give you on Michael McDonough - I am sorry to say we know nothing about him. [page 2] years and years ago my mother mentioned a brother Michael, and that is all she said about him. When asked, her reply was always - "I have nothing to say." The subject was dropped and we never heard of him again. Our cousins knew nothing of him either. You said your mother married him in 1918. Was that the last time you heard of him? [page 3] I am so sorry I cannot help you if he was your father then we of course would be your cousin. I do wish with all my heart that I could throw a little light on this mystery but there are no answers here. Good luck in your search and God bless you. Our prayers are with you. Virginia Usher 4249 Michigan Ave Apt 608 St. Louis, Mo 63111 [page 4] An after thought. Have you tried contacting the family in Ireland. I don't know who is left over there but the address is -- McDonough Family Bally Conlaught Headford County Galway Ireland | Usher, Virginia M. (I1338)

| 1858 | Liberty Athletics mourns the loss of Morgan Hout, a former head football coach and Athletics Hall of Fame member, who passed away on Nov. 1 at the age of 76. Hout, the fourth head coach in the history of Liberty’s football program, was inducted into the Liberty Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020. (Watch an interview with Hout filmed prior to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony that year.) Hout was a pioneer and the visionary head coach who guided Liberty’s football program through the transition from the NCAA Division II ranks into the Division I era. Hout was at the helm of the football program from 1984-88, where he coached 11 All-Americans. He also helped recruit 11 Liberty football players who went on to play in the NFL, including the two highest NFL Draft selections in football program history. Hout’s squads continually faced off against the toughest competition in the country. His 1984 team wrapped up the season with a 27-14 win over NAIA ranked No. 1 Carson-Newman, marking the first time in program history Liberty defeated the No. 1 ranked team in the country at any level. The native of Marietta, Ga., guided Liberty to an 8-3 record during the program’s first year at the NCAA I-AA level in 1988, and finished the year ranked No. 18 in the country. He was duly honored for his efforts when he was named the 1988 VaSID Coach of the Year and the Bobby Ross Coach of the Year. In recent years, Hout served as a community liason in Liberty’s Hancock Welcome Center, greeting prospective students and their parents as they visited campus in a similar fashion to how he recruited prospective players during his time as the Flames’ head football coach. Hout will be honored at this weekend’s football game against Louisiana Tech on Saturday evening at Williams Stadium. He will also be recognized on Friday during a banquet where Liberty Athletics is honoring 50 years of Liberty Football history. November 1, 2023: By Liberty Athletics --- Liberty athletics mourns the loss of former Flames football Head Coach and Athletics Hall of Fame member Morgan Hout, who passed away Nov. 1 at the age of 76. Hout led the football program from 1984-88, where he ushered the team in its transition from an NCAA Division II program to Division I. The Georgia native got his first opportunity in the coaching world as an unpaid assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he spent six seasons. After a several-year stint at the University of Richmond as an assistant coach, Hout found his home on the Mountain. In his time at the helm for the Flames, Hout coached 11 All-Americans and helped recruit 11 Liberty football players who went on to play in the NFL. The coach eventually moved on to Georgetown University in 1993, settling down in Lexington, Kentucky for the next phase of his life. In 2012, however, he returned to the Hill City, serving as in the Hancock Welcome Center to welcome prospective students and parents to Liberty. He will long be remembered for his relentless kindness, perseverance and passion for passing on knowledge and experience to everyone he came across - whether on the football field or in everyday life.
