She was a petite girl, light brown hair and blue eyes and I would call her feisty with a great sense of humor. She and my Uncle Don had 4 sons, Donnie, Danny, Dale and Doug, the two youngest died young. Douglas died of a heart attack at the age of 42. Dale died in a gas explosion on returning home. Betty's mother's maiden name was Susan Belle Allen of Buffalo, NY b c 1888. In the 1930 census there was a 21 year old male, Allen Hymlick, Betty's cousin, a favorite of hers, and she said he died in the war. Betty's father, Benjamin Franklin De Courcey born in Pennsylvania, Emporium or Counterspoint, Cameron County. He was 65 when he died, Betty didn't remember the year. He had 2 sisters and 7 brothers. They lived in Miami for awhile. Betty said her brother found out the family was from Ireland, even a county named De Courcey. Betty's brother's birth was Jan 11, 19?? and Betty was born March 2,1922 in Buffalo. Betty's father worked for the railroad. That is about it. Don and Betty left Buffalo about 1948-9 moved to Los Gatos, Ca. then to Everett, Wa. where he worked for Boeing Aircraft. Donald Rose died at home of a heart attack in Everett. Later Betty moved to Oregon to be near her son Dan and his daughter, who helped her. That is about it! I have a picture or two of Betty, somewhere, if you want I could email a copy to you later. | 1397 | Brother of 2 Area Residents is Killed. Bernard Bucheit, 47, of St. Marys, a brother of two Kane area residents, was fatally injured in a three-car wreck eight miles north of DuBois at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead on arrival at DuBois Hospital. A second person died from injuries suffered in the wreck, Charlene Crawford, 37, of Penfield, pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital also.
